Transition Words Unite

Skill 5 for ESL within our Online Learning Center is all about using, finding, defining and understanding the significance of transition words in the English language. How do you teach students the significance of these words in a way that avoids simple rote memorization? Do you have any suggestions of ways to do this effectively so students retain the information?
